About Wagner
Wagner traces its roots to Wagner Electric, founded in 1909, which grew into one of the automotive industry's longest-running braking-parts manufacturers. The brand now operates under DRiV, the aftermarket parts division formed after Tenneco's 2018 acquisition of Federal-Mogul, alongside other established names such as Monroe and MOOG. Over more than a century in the braking business, Wagner has built a full catalog spanning brake pads, rotors, brake shoes, and hydraulic components including wheel cylinders, sold through major auto parts retailers and Amazon.
Wagner's ThermoQuiet ceramic pad line is built around its Integrally Molded Insulator (IMI) one-piece construction, first brought to market for the 2002 model year, which bonds the noise-dampening shim directly to the backing plate during manufacturing rather than attaching it as a separate part. Wagner also developed the OE25 zero-copper friction formulation to meet copper-content limits already in effect in California and Washington state, and its pad lines are lab-tested against the industry's SAE J2521 (noise) and SAE J2522 (stopping effectiveness) protocols before release.

What Wagner makes
Wagner's range runs wider than the products we review. The lines we know best from our own testing are marked with a star:
ThermoQuiet ceramic brake pads
IMI one-piece insulator construction for quiet daily-driver stopping -- the line featured on RevRated — featured on RevRated
OEX ceramic brake pads
OE-match ceramic pads built on the zero-copper OE25 formulation for late-model domestic, European, and Asian applications
SevereDuty semi-metallic brake pads
semi-metallic compound for higher-heat and heavier-duty braking demands
Brake rotors
rotors engineered to pair with Wagner's pad lines across the same fitment catalog
Wheel cylinders
hydraulic components for drum brake systems
Why we recognized Wagner
The RevRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Wagner earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, run on real vehicles, and judged on merit.

Wagner ThermoQuiet QC924A Ceramic Disc Brake Pad Set
The QC924A's IMI one-piece construction bonds the insulator directly to the backing plate instead of attaching it as a separate part, eliminating the shim-to-plate joint that is the most common source of brake squeal in pads that use bolt-on or adhesive-bonded shims. It runs the zero-copper CeramicNXT (OE25) formulation, meeting copper-free legislation already active in California and Washington, and in our testing owners across Hyundai, Kia, Pontiac, and Toyota platforms reported OEM-comparable stopping with quiet operation after bed-in, backed by a 4.5-star rating across verified reviews.

- The zero-copper OE25 friction formulation meets copper-content limits already in effect in California and Washington state without giving up stopping performance.
- Pad lines are lab-tested against the SAE J2521 (noise) and SAE J2522 (stopping effectiveness) industry protocols before release.
- More than a century of dedicated braking-parts manufacturing, tracing to Wagner Electric's 1909 founding and continuing today under DRiV.
- The ThermoQuiet QC924A holds a 4.5-star rating across its verified Amazon review base in our own testing, with owners consistently reporting quiet, drop-in fitment.
