About Escort
ESCORT Inc. is a radar and laser detector manufacturer headquartered in West Chester, Ohio, tracing its roots to Cincinnati Microwave, the company that built the original radar detector market in the late 1970s. When Cincinnati Microwave went bankrupt in the mid-1990s, former vice president of operations Greg Blair and a group of investors bought its patents, trademarks, and inventory, and ESCORT Inc. reopened for business on April 10, 1997, staffed largely by former Cincinnati Microwave engineers. The company still designs and engineers its detectors in Ohio today, with production support out of a Canadian assembly plant.
